Human Interest Stories

The Human Interest Story is usually written in third person. You are usually telling “about” someone—what they do or have done. This story usually relays information and requires an interview.

Questions to ask when writing:

  • Why am I writing this story?
  • What is the main point I need to get across?
  • What is the most important information?

Put that information at the beginning. Don’t hide it in the middle or save it till the end of story.
